Reclaim Your Power

Our power exists in our consciousness—our awareness in the present moment. Yet, so many of us go through each day on autopilot, repeating the same routines, patterns, and habits without even realizing it. But living life this way is where we lose our power.

As humans, we crave comfort and stability because it makes us feel safe. Out of this desire for comfort, we avoid making decisions to change and stick with our unconscious routine. However, the exercise routine, diet, environment, relationship, or job that you are currently in may not align with your ultimate goals. Instead of holding on to stability out of fear, we must be willing to relinquish control and embrace change. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

This is where you can reclaim your power—by waking up and making conscious decisions. We have the power to decide to change our actions. If you are not happy with your life, you can change it! It sounds so simple, yet for years, I forgot this. I gave my power away, allowing others to make decisions for me and staying in situations that didn’t fulfill me.

The first step is asking yourself: What do I truly want in this life? The next question is: Am I living the life I want to be living? If the answer is no, then it’s time to wake up to the present moment. Because in every moment, there are infinite opportunities to make choices that can shift your path.

My life changed drastically when I became conscious of the decisions I had the power to make. Once I had a vision of what I wanted, I started asking myself, “Is this choice moving me closer to or further from where I want to be?” I applied this to everything—from choosing to wake up 30 minutes earlier to meditate to balance my cortisol levels, to choosing to exercise more frequently to release more endorphins.

Of course, as with everything in life, there is a balance. Once you make a decision, stick with it and move forward—don’t dwell on it or criticize yourself for making the “wrong” choice. One of life’s blessings is the endless opportunities we have to make choices and create change.

When you begin making choices that align with your vision, you will find fulfillment in each day. Over time, these small choices accumulate, and suddenly, you’ll realize you are living the life you once dreamed of. But then, your vision will evolve, and the process will begin again. Because the one thing that remains constant in life is change.

But if you recognize your power to make decisions and you act in alignment with your soul’s desires, then you will find happiness. True happiness is found in the present, not in the future.
